Turkish Bazar is a third-generation rug house born in Kashmir in 1950 and re-imagined in New York by a daughter carrying her grandfather’s legacy forward. Every piece in our collection is handwoven by master artisans—many of them women leading weaving cooperatives in remote villages—or sourced as a rare antique from markets across the world. We don’t just sell rugs; we steward stories, lineages, and livelihoods.
We work directly with women artisans and family workshops, ensuring fair pay, safe working conditions, and long-term partnerships—not trend-driven exploitation
Our first karkhana opened in Kashmir in 1950 under the vision of our late grandfather. Today, his granddaughter curates the collection in New York, blending heritage with contemporary living
We specialize in antique and vintage rugs—Persian, Kashmiri, Turkish, Caucasian—sourced and restored by our in-house experts for collectors, designers, and homes that value soul.
In 1996, my father carried a bundle of Kashmiri rugs to the United States and changed the trajectory of our family forever. Today, I carry his vision into a new generation—rooted in the same integrity, now told in a woman’s voice.’ – Founder
Every rug we offer carries a story—handwoven in our family karkhana in Kashmir or sourced from trusted workshops and markets around the world. We meticulously inspect and document each piece so you can invest with confidence, knowing its origin, age, and construction. When a project calls for something truly personal, our bespoke program lets you customize size, weave, and palette using hand-spun wool, fine silk, and time-honored natural dyes.
Explore our New York gallery or browse online from anywhere in the world. Our team shares the history behind each design and offers seamless, global service—with careful packing and insured shipping from our hands to your home.

We are committed to more than a transaction—we want every interaction to feel personal and meaningful. Our goal is to help you find a rug that fits your space, values, and budget without compromising on craftsmanship or beauty.
Our small team grew up around looms, dye pots, and market stalls. We offer honest, tailored guidance—listening to how you live, how you pray, how you gather—then suggesting pieces that truly belong in your life, not just your cart.
At Turkish Bazar, we pride ourselves on transparency—from price and provenance to who actually wove your rug. Whether you’re seeking an antique collector’s piece, a vintage rug with patina, a fresh contemporary design, or a fully custom commission, we walk with you at every step.
Your satisfaction—and the dignity of the artisans we work with—are equally important to us. Let us help you find a piece that honors both your home and her hands. Reach out today!
